About
The name
Hopewell is a community within Bessemer, Alabama. Small place. Real place. The kind of place where everybody knows whose truck is in the driveway and what high school your daddy went to.
It's also the name of this studio, because that's where our founder grew up. Twenty-five years in technology, ten of those inside an ad agency, and the rest spent figuring out what actually helps real businesses instead of just sounding expensive in a meeting.
We started building sites for people who needed something better than a template and cheaper than a Cadillac. That turned into a lifetime of work for some of the coolest people and businesses in the southeast.
The process
You tell us what you're trying to do. We ask enough questions to keep us from building the wrong thing. If it makes sense, we send you our Stupid Website Questions. No deck. No jargon. No six-week pregame show.
Design and development happen together. You see real pages, real progress, real decisions. Not a PDF with twelve circles around a button.
When we're done, you own it. Domain, design, code, hosting, all of it. If you never hire us again, the site still works just fine. As it should.
Under the hood
We build static sites, which is a boring phrase for a very useful thing: your website is fast, secure, cheap to host, and not waiting around to be broken by some plugin update at 2:13 in the morning.
When a project needs more than a brochure site, we build that too. Stores, catalogs, merch, subscriptions, and the parts behind the scenes that make an online business actually work.
The stack is straightforward: Astro for the framework, Tailwind for styling, Cloudflare for hosting and security, and Sanity CMS when you need to update your own content without texting us.

Where we work
We like working in the South because we understand the rhythm of it. The budgets. The tone. The practical streak. The part where people do not want to pay for a bunch of theater around the work.
That said, if you're somewhere else and doing something interesting, we're not checking your accent at the door.
Tell us what you've got. We'll tell you if it's got legs.
